Reduxi Gateway can be used as a measurement device using current sensors, a controllable device to connect Smart Grid contacts or similar, or a basic gateway to convert RS485 signal to TCP/IP.
Reduxi Gateway is an add-on device to the Reduxi controller which serves as the primary logic unit. Reduxi Gateway offers two RS485 ports, three inputs for current sensors, and two relay outputs. It can be connected to the local area network using Ethernet cable or WiFi. With Reduxi Gateway the RS485 signal can be converted to TCP/IP. With this functionality old devices that don't support TCP/IP become accessible to the local network (LAN, WLAN), furthermore, conversion to TCP/IP becomes useful when wiring to the device we want to measure is too complicated, instead the Reduxy Gateway is placed near the device for connection via RS485 and communication to Reduxi Controller via TCP/IP.
Using current sensors you can use Reduxi Gateway as a meter, measuring the energy consumption of the measured device by grabbing phase lines of the device with current sensors.
Through relay output, Reduxi Gateway allows control of devices that support ON/OFF regulation, meaning Reduxi Gateway can turn them off or on. One of the use cases is Smart Grid or EVU contact, where you can control heat pumps by decreasing or increasing their consumption. It could also be used for other applications, where a basic ON/OFF device regulation is used.

2. First connection to Reduxi Gateway
Reduxi Gateway offers two connection options, the first is to connect with an Ethernet cable directly to the network (LAN), and the second is to connect to Reduxi Gateway's access point.
2.1 Wired connection
Physically connect Reduxi Gateway to the local network (LAN), to an internet switch or router. First, make sure that Reduxi Gateway is plugged into the power supply, which is included in the Reduxi Gateway delivery package. Once connected to LAN, the Reduxi Gateway configurator should appear ("popup") automatically in your default browser, in case it doesn't please follow instructions from 2.3 Sing-in to Reduxi Gateway Configurator.

2.2 Wireless connection
Once connected to WiFi, the Reduxi Gateway configurator should appear ("popup") automatically in your default browser, in case it doesn't open please follow instructions from 2.3 Sing-in to Reduxi Gateway Configurator.
- Username: admin
- Password: admin
2.3.1 Configure network settings for Wired network connection
Since the DHCP protocol for assigning the IP of Reduxi Gateway is set as the default protocol, we strongly recommend setting the static IP of Reduxi Gateway. Go to Network settings/Wired network choose protocol to STATIC and set other parameters:
- IP address: set IP,
- Netmask: set Netmask (usually 255.255.255.0),
- Gateway: set your network Gateway (if needed),
- Primary DNS: set your DNS (if needed),
- Secondary DNS: set your DNS (if needed),
- Click the "Save" button under the network settings
2.3.2 Configure network settings for Wireless network
First, fill in the needed information about the local WiFi chosen as the preferred WLAN. Scan for the available WiFi networks by clicking on the WiFi sign icon on the right. Once selected enter password and connect.

2.3.3 Home page of the Reduxi Gateway
2.3.4 Reduxi Gateway Serial port settings
If RS485 ports are used for the serial connection, it is necessary to set the following settings:
- Baud rate: set Baud rate,
- Data Bits: set the number of data bits,
- Stop bits: set the number of stop bits,
- Parity: choose parity.
- after all serial settings, click the "Save" button at the bottom right.
2.3.5 Reduxi Gateway MQTT settings
The Reduxi Gateway device enables the configuration and readings from the device using the MQTT broker to which the device connects. For successful communication with the MQTT broker, it is necessary to fill in the following information:
- Enable MQTT: Yes/No, select Yes,
- Host: enter the URL where the broker is located,
- Username and password: Enter the username and password used to log in to the broker's URL,
- Use SSL: if SSL is used,
- Verify server cert: For the example of using a server certificate,
- Server CA chain (PEM format): select the server certificate file,
- Client private key (PEM format): select the server certificate file,
- Client public key (PEM format): select the public key file,
- after all MQTT settings, click the "Save" button at the bottom right.
Instructions for using the MQTT broker are available at MQTT instructions.
2.3.6 Reduxi Gateway System settings
The following options are specified in the system settings:
- Username: cannot be changed,
- Password: enter a new password,
- Password confirmation: re-enter the new password,
- Current 1/2/3: set the current ratio of the current sensor,

3. Add Reduxi Gateway to Reduxi Controller in Reduxi Controller Configurator
3.1 Ping-Test zwischen Reduxi Controller und Reduxi-Gateway im gleichen Netzwerk (LAN, WLAN)
Once Reduxi Controller and Reduxi Gateway are connected to the same (LAN, WLAN) network, a "ping test" can be performed to make sure that the Reduxi Controller can access the Reduxi Gateway.
To access a "Ping test" addition three steps (click) are needed:
Click one: + sign System; Click two: + sign Tools; Click three: Ping test
Ping test:
To perform the ping test, just enter the IP for Reduxi Gateway and click the "Test" button. You can use an IP address or DNS address which is the gateway.local.
Ping test can have two responses:
1. Ping test is successful:
1. Ping test failed:
3.2 Reduxi Gateway as Reduxi meter
An example of how to add a Reduxi Gateway as a Reduxi meter can be found on the link: Kronoterm Heat pump with SG ready contacts, where Reduxi Gateway serves as an energy meter for the heat pump in example. Relays of Reduxi Gateway have to be configured accordingly, as described in the example.
