1. How to configure SolarEdge Solar Power Plant Inverter to allow Modbus TCP communication with Reduxi Controller?
NOTE:
Residential inverters with Firemwear version 4.xx.xx and nominal power less than 17kW can utilize Wifi internet connection for Modbus TCP/IP protocol.
Any other must be connected with the UTP cable.
1.1 RS485 connection
Note. If we want to connect over RS485, we must select the RS485 port on Inveter, where we connected Reduxi Controller. After choosing the RS485 port, we set the option to » non-solar edge sunspec logger«. We can check the device ID and baud rate.
1.2 SolarEdge Wi-Fi connection
Please use our Reduxi Gateway if you would like to connect SolarEdge over a Wi-Fi connection to our Reduxi system.
1.3 TCP connection
Before adding SolarEdge Solar Power Plant Inverter to Reduxi Controller, you must enable Modbus TCP communication and change the IP Configuration from Dynamic to Static IP.
If the DHCP option is used, the IP of SolarEdge will constantly change, and you will have to manually adjust the IP in Reduxi Configurator every time the IP is changed. Otherwise, there will be a communication error.
1.3.1 Download & Install SolarEdge Inverters SetApp
1.3.2 Connect, Pair and configure the device
1.3.3 Click Site Communication
1.3.4 Change DCHP to Static
1.3.5 Click back to Site Communication
1.3.6 Click Modbus TCP port
1.3.7 Enable Modbus TCP
