How to connect Buderus RC300 heat pump with Reduxi controller
Add the Buderus Logamatic RC300 to the Reduxi Controller.
1 Technical documentation
The manufacturer describes how to connect and configure the device in its documentation.
- Buderus documentation portal – Manufacturer documentation, as referenced in the original article
- Logamatic RC300 operating instructions – Buderus, document 6 720 815 787 (German)
2 Prepare the control unit
2.1 Required equipment
- Reduxi Controller
- Buderus Logamatic RC300, installed and configured as described by the manufacturer (see Point 1)
- Laptop or tablet with internet access to configure the device in Reduxi
2.2 About the Logamatic RC300
Facts from the manufacturer documentation:
- The Logamatic RC300 is a Buderus control unit for the EMS plus bus system. It is not a heat pump itself.
- It controls up to four heating circuits and two domestic hot water systems. It also shows solar system data and has a menu for hybrid systems.
- The manual refers to the web KM communication module for the internet connection.
3 Connect and configure the device
Follow the connection and configuration instructions of the manufacturer (see Point 1).
Keep the Modbus unit ID of the device ready. Normally, 1 is used.
4 Log in to the Reduxi web interface
You can open the Reduxi web interface in two ways:

5 Add the device to Reduxi
Use these steps to add a new device or to edit an existing one.
5.1 Basic settings
Log in locally to the Reduxi Configurator on the controller (see Point 4) and click + Add device.
Enter the basic settings: select the device type and type that match your device and enter a name of your choice.
5.2 Communication settings
Select the communication channel and enter the device configuration:
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Communication channel | The channel the device is connected through |
| Modbus unit ID | Normally 1
|
5.3 Advanced settings
Enter and choose the advanced settings of the device.
5.4 Test communication
Click Test communication at the bottom of the wizard. It reads the Logamatic RC300 once and saves nothing. If the test succeeds, click Done: only Done creates the device.

Port *: 502, with button 'Test port'. Modbus unit ID *: 1. Buttons at the bottom: Back (left), Test communication and Done (right). The Done button is marked with a cyan box.
6 Check the readings
6.1 Last measurements
After communication is established, check the values under Devices in the Reduxi Configurator as an additional test.
6.2 Enable control by Reduxi
Under Devices in the Reduxi Configurator, set the control type of the device to AUTO. Only then do strategy commands affect the device.
To reduce energy costs with dynamic prices and dynamic tariffs, define a strategy as described in Strategies for Reduxi controller.
✓ Summary
Preparation (Points 1–2): Find the manufacturer documentation and prepare the device and the Reduxi Controller.
Logamatic RC300 (Point 3): Connect and configure the device as the manufacturer describes. Note the Modbus unit ID (normally 1).
Add to Reduxi (Points 4–5): Log in to the Reduxi Configurator, add the device and test the communication.
Go live (Point 6): Check the readings and set the control type to AUTO.
→ Common issues
| Issue | Solution |
|---|---|
| Test communication fails | Check the Modbus unit ID of the device. Normally, 1 is used. Check the communication channel and the connection. |
| Open configurator does not open or stays empty | The tunnel is not active yet. Wait about 30 seconds and check that the controller is online. |
Login with admin is rejected |
The password was changed during installation. Ask the installer. The Reduxi account password does not work here. |
reduxi.local does not load |
Your device is not in the same network as the controller. Use the IP address or the tunnel connection. |
| Communication test fails, device shows offline | Check reachability, IP address / port / unit ID, and that the protocol is enabled on the device. |
