5 Add the heat pump to Reduxi
Use these steps to add a new heat pump or to edit an existing one.
5.1 Basic settings
Log in locally to the Reduxi Configurator on the controller (see Point 4) and click + Add device.
Enter the basic settings of the device:
- Device type:
HVAC - Type: the Kronoterm entry of your controller, as named in the List of supported devices (
Kronoterm KSMorKronoterm TT3000) - Name: a name of your choice, for example Kronoterm heat pump
5.2 Communication settings
Select the communication channel and enter the device configuration:
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Communication channel |
TCP/IP or RS485, depending on how the heat pump is connected |
| Modbus unit ID | Normally 1
|
5.3 Advanced settings
Enter and choose the advanced settings.
5.4 Test communication
Click Test communication at the bottom of the wizard. It reads the Kronoterm heat pump once and saves nothing. If the test succeeds, click Done: only Done creates the device.

Port *: 502, with button 'Test port'. Modbus unit ID *: 1. Buttons at the bottom: Back (left), Test communication and Done (right). The Done button is marked with a cyan box.
6 Check the readings
6.1 Last measurements
After communication is established, check the values under Devices – Kronoterm heat pump in the Reduxi Configurator as an additional test.
6.2 Enable control by Reduxi
For advanced control, integrate the heat pump into the Reduxi strategy. Under Devices – Kronoterm heat pump in the Reduxi Configurator, set the control type to AUTO. Only then do strategy commands affect the heat pump.
To achieve maximum flexibility and energy cost reduction with dynamic prices and dynamic tariffs, define a strategy as described in Strategies for Reduxi controller.
✓ Summary
Preparation (Points 1–2): Open the Kronoterm documents. Prepare the controller, the connection to the heat pump and a laptop or tablet.
Kronoterm heat pump (Point 3): Connect and configure the heat pump as described by Kronoterm.
Add to Reduxi (Points 4–5): Log in to the Reduxi web interface. Click + Add device, enter the basic settings, the communication settings and the advanced settings. Run Test communication and click Done.
Go live (Point 6): Check the readings under Devices and set the control type to AUTO.
→ Common issues
| Issue | Solution |
|---|---|
| Test communication fails | Check the Modbus unit ID. Normally 1 is used. Check that the communication channel (TCP/IP or RS485) matches the connection to the heat pump. |
| Open configurator does not open or stays empty | The tunnel is not active yet. Wait about 30 seconds and check that the controller is online. |
Login with admin is rejected |
The password was changed during installation. Ask the installer. The Reduxi account password does not work here. |
reduxi.local does not load |
Your device is not in the same network as the controller. Use the IP address or the tunnel connection. |
| Communication test fails, device shows offline | Check reachability, IP address / port / unit ID, and that the protocol is enabled on the device. |
