How to connect Landis+Gyr E450 energy meter with Reduxi controller
Connect the Landis+Gyr E450 energy meter to the Reduxi Controller via M-Bus and the Reduxi Landis Converter.
1 Technical documentation
Documents for this installation:
- How to configure Landis+Gyr E350 or E450 in the MAP120 tool – Reduxi guide for the M-Bus settings on the meter
- Reduxi Converter for Landis+Gyr E350, 450 meter – Connection and technical data of the Reduxi converter
- Landis+Gyr E450 brochure – Manufacturer data on the meter and its interfaces
2 Required equipment
You need the following components:
- Reduxi Controller or Reduxi Gateway
- Landis+Gyr E450 energy meter
- Reduxi Landis Converter RS485-M-BUS
- Cable between the converter and the controller (A, B and GND)
- Laptop or tablet with internet access to configure the device in Reduxi
3 Set up the M-Bus interface on the meter
To configure the energy meter, follow How to configure Landis+Gyr E350 or E450 in the MAP120 tool.
4 Connect the meter to the Reduxi Controller
4.1 Connect M-Bus on the meter
Connect M-Bus on the energy meter directly to the Reduxi Landis Converter RS485-M-BUS. Use pins 28 and 29 on the energy meter, as shown in the picture.

Diagram of the terminal layout of an energy meter (Landis+Gyr E450) in three dashed boxes. Left box: voltage and current measurement with three current transformer symbols, terminals 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 9, 10 and 12, a motor symbol M, and phase lines L1, L2, L3 and N below. Middle box: relay and pulse outputs with terminals 23, 24, 25, 26 (two switch symbols, Uc 230V, Ic 0.1A and Ic 8A; a yellow dot marks terminal 24) and terminals 30 and 31 with a 12V source, LED symbol and I1 pulse symbol (+ on 30, - on 31). Right box: M-BUS block with four terminals in the order 28, 29, 28, 29; the M-BUS box is connected to the terminals with lines and junction dots (28 and 29 on the left connected to the M-BUS box, the other 28 and 29 linked by a second line).
4.2 Connect the converter to the controller
Connect the RS485 side of the Reduxi Landis Converter to the Reduxi Controller or Reduxi Gateway. Choose port one or port two:
- A → A
- B → B
- GND → GND
4.3 Check the converter LEDs
A green light and a blinking yellow light appear on the converter. If the yellow light is not blinking, the energy meter is not set from the electro-distribution and does not send data.
5 Log in to the Reduxi web interface
You can open the Reduxi web interface in two ways:

✓ Summary
Preparation (Points 1–2): Open the documentation. Prepare the controller, the converter, the cable and a laptop or tablet.
Landis+Gyr E450 (Points 3–4): Set up M-Bus on the meter. Connect pins 28 and 29 to the converter and the converter to the controller.
Add to Reduxi (Points 5–6): Log in to the Reduxi Configurator. Add the device and test communication.
Go live (Point 7): Check the last measurements under Devices.
→ Common issues
| Issue | Solution |
|---|---|
| Yellow LED on the converter is not blinking | The meter is not set from the electro-distribution and sends no data. |
| Test communication fails | Check the optional Block cypher and authentication key parameters. They depend on how the distributor configured the meter. |
| Open configurator does not open or stays empty | The tunnel is not active yet. Wait about 30 seconds and check that the controller is online. |
Login with admin is rejected |
The password was changed during installation. Ask the installer. The Reduxi account password does not work here. |
reduxi.local does not load |
Your device is not in the same network as the controller. Use the IP address or the tunnel connection. |
| Communication test fails, device shows offline | Check reachability, IP address / port / unit ID, and that the protocol is enabled on the device. |
