1. Introduction
Welcome to the world of Reduxi which allows you to take control of energy costs and efficient use of electricity for sustainable development. Main features:
- Peak power management,
- Solar power plant production management,
- Optimisation of electricity consumption.
Accurate measurement and energy consumption analysis are the first steps towards energy reduction. To achieve this goal, you need the right technology. Reduxi Converter enables the connection of P1 meters to Reduxi system via Reduxi Controller.
2. Connection instructions
Reduxi Converter P1 WiFi first needs to be connected to a WiFi network. Then you need to connect Reduxi Converter to Reduxi Controller through the newly established TCP/IP connection.
See also this document: Connect P1-WiFi converter to Reduxi
- Connect Smart meter with RJ12 cable to Reduxi Converter (make sure the order of the wires in RJ12 cable matches on both sides of RJ12 cable). A working cable is included in the package.
- The green LED on the Converter should start to glow.
- Go to WiFi networks using your phone or computer, and connect to the WiFi network with name "P1WIFI".
- If a window doesn't automatically pop-up , open your browser, and go to the http://p1wifi.local
- Use username "admin" and password "admin" for login.
- Connect the Converter to your local WiFi network by configuring the wireless network settings (we recommend setting the static IP address).
- Click save, and now connect with your mobile phone or computer to the same wifi local network that you have connected the Converter.
- Connect to the Reduxi Controller, by going to the http://reduxi.local, login and select "Add device".
- Select "Energy meter" and the type of Smart meter with P1 port that you would like to add (e.g. Iskraemeco AM550). The other fields can be left default. For example:
- Select Device type: Energy meter,
- Select Type: Iskraemeco AM550,
- Select Category: Grid,
- And define the name.
Note, some Energy meters are not compatible with the P1 protocol.
- In the next screen, select Connection type: "Converter WiFi - P1"
- Insert the IP address of Reduxi Converter P1 WiFi or type p1wifi.local. NOTE: the last parameter "Message structure" can differ depending on where your meter is located (i.e. different country) and must be changed accordingly. The rest can be left default.
- Test communication is done via the "Test communication" button at the bottom, right after all Communication channel fields are entered.
- There are two different cases of communication response.
- Case 1: Communication is working properly
- Case 2: Unable to communicate with the device
- If communication is working select "done", and device is added.
- If communication is not working try the following
- Check and experiment with the "Message structure"
- Check if the Converter is correctly connected to the network. You can try to connect to the Converter using your browser by opening http://p1wifi.local or the IP address that you have configured.
- Check all the steps given in this document.
- Contact your DSO (distribution system operator) to configure the electrical meter accordingly. Explain that you need the meter to regularly report the measurements.
