Once the charging station has been installed and connected to the power supply, it must be set up via the app and connected to the internal WiFi.
A distinction is made here between:
- new charging stations and
- devices that have already been set up.
If you have already connected the charging station to the app and your WiFi, please continue here:
2.1 Connect a new go-e Charger
- To do this, start the app and select “Initial setup for new go-e Charger”
- Next, you must agree to the terms &conditions.
- Now you can add the device by scanning the QR code.
To do this, you need the go-e charger reset card, which is included with the device. - In the window that opens, you must enter and confirm the password for the hotspot, which is printed on the go-e card reset card.
- Then enter your country and press continue.
- You can optionally assign a technician password to protect the configuration against unauthorized access.
- Now select the Wi-Fi network to which the Reduxi Controller and the go-e Charger are to be connected.
If it is not displayed, you can also enter the network manually. - Once you have entered the password, confirm the settings.
- Now you need to choose a password for the charging station and the configuration is complete.
- Finally, disconnect the hotspot connection to the charger and switch your smartphone to an Wi-Fi connection to control the charger remotely.
3. Create a configuration for OCPP between the go-e Charger and the Reduxi controller
3.1 Add device
First login to local Reduxi configurator and add new device by click on Add device button.
3.2 Select device that would you like to add
Within first step select basic settings:
- Select Device type: EV charger,
- Select Type: OCPP 1.6 - JSON,
- And define name.
3.3 Device configuration for OCPP
Second step is used for Communication channel, for OCPP communication to work properly. First define Device identifier (your choice). In case of OCPP json 1.6 protocol URL is needed, which is automatically generated by Reduxi controller. Once you have the URL generated, you need to add /Device ID at the end of the URL. Example URL: ws://192.168.1.200/ocpp/1.6/json/my_station_ID1.
3.4 Configure OCPP in go-e application
After obtaining the correct URL, you need to paste it into the 'OCPP' menu located in go-e Charger app within the 'Internet' tab.
- Select “Settings” in the bottom menu on the go-e app home screen.
- Next, select the “Connection” menu.
-
In the submenu that appears, click on “MQTT".
- In the MQTT menu, please check the box next to OCPP.
- Select the settings for OCPP.
- Here, for Host, please enter the IP address of the Reduxi controller, which was displayed in step 3.3 in the bottom tab.
As Example: 192.168.1.138 - And here, enter the path that was displayed in step 3.3 in the bottom tab. In addition, enter the exact name of the device here, as specified in step 3.3 in the first line:
As Example: /ocpp/1.6/json/my_station_ID1 - Save settings and go back to the Reduxi Controller to proceed with the Test communication.
4. Test communication
To perform the communication test, select the desired charging station in the main menu of the Reduxi controller.
Select the “Details” tab in the top selection menu, scroll down to the bottom, and start the test by pressing the button.
There are three different cases of communication response.
Case 1: Communication is working properly
Case 2: Unable to communicate with device 1, ID of device is not set or is different
Case 3: No device with OCPP 1.6 communication is found
4.2 Readings from device
Purpose of this point to show how to check readings from the device. This is done under "Device/Last measurement.
Once device is successfully added trough configurator, it can be monitored and controlled via cloud application Reduxi.
