Fluctuations in energy billing prices for supplied and distributed energy offer cost-saving opportunities when implementing the Reduxi system.
1. Introduction
Given the significant variations in prices for power and energy prices across different periods, it is essential for the Reduxi system to have all the necessary information to maximize profit and savings through flexible adaptation to price changes, ensuring optimal value. The following sections outline how users can create pricing lists for consumed and distributed energy/power.
2. Setting the price list per location
To perform AI or negative price optimization, a price list must be set for your location. When setting the price list, you can use one of the predefined price lists, or you can create your own price list as described in Sections 3 and 4 of this document.
Setting up a price list for a specific location is done in the following steps.
- First, set the region of your location. The region is important for setting up the market prices. Click "Manage Location" and then select "Location information".
- Then select „Utility Rate Plan“
- And choose the price list you want to use (e.g. spot price with an additional fee, note the price list is configurable as explained in the next sections)
3. Private Reduxi pricing plans
To define your private pricing plans that are not predefined two distinct models (pricing lists) must be defined:
To access both modes follow the URL: https://app.reduxi.eu/user/settings.
Login is needed.
3.1 Pricing plan
Pricing plans are the base for defining price lists. Users can add or edit Energy price lists.
Example of how to add a new plan:
- Click on "+Add new price list"
- Fill in the basic settings (name, time of use, currency):
- Define Utilliy settings (import/export energy price), which can apply to three different billing models:
- Fixed (Buy and Sell prices for kWh are constant for all periods, fill in the price in cents/kWh (price is not in €/MWh, this is important).
-
- SPOT Market, price in this segment doesn't need to be defined because all data is obtained from the exchange market (however, the region has to be defined to know which market to use, see 3. SPOT Market).
-
- Time of use, here prices are obtained from the tariff blocks defined in the Time of Use Plan. Press the drop-down button and select the predefined time-of-use plan.
- Define Network settings (Distribution cost for imported/exported energy and billing power), which can apply to two different billing models:
- Fixed (Buy and Sell prices for cent/kWh and billing power cent/kW/month are constant for all periods, fill in the price of cent/kWh for energy and power in cent/kW/month (the price is not in €/MWh or €/kW/month, this is important).
-
- Time of use, here prices are obtained from the tariff blocks defined in the Time of Use Plan. Press the drop-down button and select the predefined time-of-use plan.
3.2 Time of use plan
- Click on +Add new plan
- Fill in the basic settings (name, currency, choose utility provider):
- Add new Tariff (name, currency, color):
- Add a new Season (name, choose months):
- Add tariffs (click on the edit button on a particular selected day)
- Add block (define time for each block)
- Summary (to double-check season/tariffs)
4. SPOT Market
Additionally, SPOT market prices for consumed energy can be obtained from electricity market exchanges, where the user only needs to specify the relevant region. This segment is essential when under the Pricing Plan SPOT market is chosen.
5. Summary
By setting parameters from the Pricing Plan and Time of Use Plan, all possible scenarios can be addressed, enabling the calculation of all monthly expenses using the Redux cloud application. Additionally, tariff blocks provide valuable insights to Reduxi, opening up new possibilities for adaptability in various situations through the flexible use of electricity. This empowers users of the Reduxi system to achieve greater savings, or even generate earnings, by optimizing their electricity usage.
Summary (quick overview), steps to complete pricing for all user case:
- Define all tariffs important for monthly billing
- Define seasons and choose the months included.
- Define price plan (choose options).
