4 Add the charger to Reduxi
The charger communicates with the Reduxi Controller via OCPP.
4.1 Basic settings
Log in locally to the Reduxi Configurator (see Point 3) and click the Add device button.

Below, two buttons side by side: Add device (plus icon, marked with a blue highlight box) and Add strategy (plus icon). Below them two entries: Settings and Profile. The area to the right of the sidebar is empty white.
In the first step (basic settings), select:
- Device type:
EV charger - Type:
OCPP 1.6 - JSON - Name: a name of your choice

Screenshot of the Reduxi Configurator add-device wizard, step 1 of 3. Progress bar with three steps: 1 Basic settings (active, black circle), 2 Communication channel (grey), 3 Advanced settings (grey). Heading: Basic settings. Fields: Device type * : empty dropdown; Type * : empty dropdown; Name * : empty text field. Buttons: Back (bottom left), Next (bottom right, dark).
4.2 Communication settings
The second step sets the communication channel for OCPP. First enter the Device identifier. This is the serial number (SN) of the AXIbox 11K. You find it in the Evchargo app.
With OCPP JSON 1.6, the server OCPP URL is generated by the Reduxi Controller. You can read it directly in the communication channel. Enter this URL in the Evchargo app (see Point 2, section 2.4).

The page is dimmed by a dialog. Visible dimmed fields: dropdown with AC; Energy counter: Default; text Allocate power to EVSE when EV is not connected to EVSE; Allow new charging session: Always; Controller OCPP JSON 1.6 URL: ws://192.168.1.78/ocpp/1.6/json with a copy icon. Dialog Test communication with a close x: message in a box Unable to communicate with device. Second box: Number of devices found on OCPP - JSON 1.6: 2; Device identifier: TACW11402 followed by a blue box; Device identifier: SN10052204 followed by the blue box (the SN text is highlighted by a text selection handle). Dialog button: Close. Below the dialog buttons: Back (left), Test communication, Save (right). Footer text: (name omitted) | 6WG4-6TIQ-53W0-131A. The phone home indicator bar overlaps the footer.
4.3 Test communication
Click Test communication at the lower right, below the communication channel fields. It checks that OCPP communication is established and saves nothing. If the test succeeds, click Done: only Done creates the device.

Screenshot of the Reduxi Configurator add-device wizard, step 2 of 3 (Communication channel). Progress bar: 1 Basic settings (black), 2 Communication channel (black, active), 3 Advanced settings (grey). Heading: Communication channel and device configuration. Fields: Device identifier *: my_station_ID1 (text field being edited, green outline); Connector *: 1; Charger type *: AC; Energy counter: Default; Allocate power to EVSE when EV is not connected to EVSE: Default; Per phase max. current *: Manual override; Per phase max. current manual override: 32 (hint below, small); Forward communication to backend OCPP server: empty; Allow new charging session: Always; Controller OCPP JSON 1.6 URL: ws:// address followed by /ocpp/1.6/json. Buttons at the bottom: Back (left), Test communication (marked with a blue box) and Next (right).
The test returns one of three results:
- Case 1: Communication works properly.
- Case 2: Unable to communicate with device 1. The ID of the device is not set or is different.
- Case 3: No device with OCPP 1.6 communication is found.

Once the device is added in the Configurator, you can monitor it in the Reduxi cloud application.
5.2 Use the charger in a strategy
To reduce energy costs with dynamic prices and dynamic tariffs, define a strategy as described in Strategies for Reduxi controller.
✓ Summary
Preparation (Point 1): Install the Evchargo app and have the charger, a Wi‑Fi network and the Reduxi Controller ready.
AXIbox 11K (Point 2): In the Evchargo app: log in, add the group and charger, connect Wi‑Fi, enter the OCPP server of the controller.
Add to Reduxi (Points 3–4): Log in to the Reduxi web interface. Add an EV charger of type OCPP 1.6 - JSON, enter the device identifier and run Test communication.
Go live (Point 5): Check Last measurement and define a strategy.
→ Common issues
| Issue | Solution |
|---|---|
| Test communication: device ID not set or different (Case 2) | Enter the serial number (SN) of the AXIbox 11K from the Evchargo app as Device identifier. |
| Test communication: no OCPP 1.6 device found (Case 3) | Check the server information in the Evchargo app: protocol WS, IP of the Reduxi Controller, port 80, path /ocpp/1.6/json/. |
| Open configurator does not open or stays empty | The tunnel is not active yet. Wait about 30 seconds and check that the controller is online. |
Login with admin is rejected |
The password was changed during installation. Ask the installer. The Reduxi account password does not work here. |
reduxi.local does not load |
Your device is not in the same network as the controller. Use the IP address or the tunnel connection. |
| Communication test fails, device shows offline | Check reachability, IP address / port / unit ID, and that the protocol is enabled on the device. |
