1. Introduction
This article describes the integration of Fronius solar or hybrid inverter with the Reduxi system. The integration is based on the MODBUS communication via ethernet.
The following models are supported:

2. Configuration of Fronius inverter

The network and Modbus configurations are the main configuration points that connect the Fronius inverter to the Reduxi environment.
2.1. Install the Solar.start application
Install the Fronius Solar.start application from Google play or App store.
The application will guide you through the installation steps.

2.2. Configure network
To configure the network you can use the app or connect directly to the hotspot of the Fronius inverter.

Check the connection and write down the IP since you will need it later when configuring Reduxi.
2.3. Configure Modbus
Important: In order to make the Modbus settings on some inverters, it is important to know
the admin password.
First log in with the admin password:
If you have lost your admin password, you can request a new one in the Solar.web portal.
To do this you have to click on forgot password under the login button.
Select "admin" and you will receive a 6-digit code that you will need on the Solar Web. Please write it down.
Now Go to Settings on the Solar.web Portal:
Then go to the components and on the right side of the data manager for which you want to reset the password, click on the three buttons and select “Reset admin password”.
You will then need to enter the 6-digit code that was previously displayed on the login page
Then you will receive a key, which you can copy and enter on the inverter's login page.
Enter the key, choose a password of your choice, confirm it and then save the changes.

The Fronius inverters need to be configured to support Modbus control. Please open Fronius application and configure Modbus settings as shown in the images below

Write down the port and address, since you will need it later.
3. Integration with Reduxi system
To be able to control the Fronius inverter from the Reduxi system, the specific Fronius device needs to be added. To add a device, please follow the steps described in section "7. Devices" of Reduxi Configurator.
In the menu for adding devices, please select the corresponsing device type (Solar power plant, Battery or hybrid) and select the specific type (e.g. Symo).
In the Communication channel setting, please enter the IP, port and Modbus unit IDs, that you have configured in the previous step. See an example below:
4. Verification and testing
After everything is connected and integrated, you can test the functionality through manually defined setpoints.
Select Reduxi/Devices/Fronius... Manual mode. Experiment with different setpoints and observe the response.
If everything is working fine, congratulations. You can define the strategies, connect to cloud application and enjoy the comfort of automatic control.
