How to connect Sofar 1-70KTL G1-G2 inverters with Reduxi controller
Integrate the Sofar 1-70KTL G1-G2 string inverter with the Reduxi Controller via Modbus RTU. Maximum flexibility and cost and energy reductions of up to 30%.
1 Technical documentation
Sofar documents are available in the Sofar download center. The user manual of the 10-15KTL-G2 string inverter is an example of the available documents.
- Sofar download center – Manuals and datasheets for Sofar inverters
- SOFAR 10-15KTL-G2 user manual (PDF, EN) – Example user manual for the 10-15 kW string inverter
2 Required equipment
You need these components:
- Reduxi Controller
- Sofar 1-70KTL G1-G2 string inverter with RS485 interface
- RS485 cable between the inverter and Port 1 or Port 2 of the Reduxi Controller
- Laptop or tablet with internet access to configure the device in Reduxi
3 Connect the Reduxi Controller to the Sofar inverter
The physical connection is required because Modbus RTU is used to access the string inverter interface.
3.1 Locate the RS485 interface on the inverter
The picture shows the location of the Modbus communication connectors on the inverter. Item 1 is the RS485 interface.

Visible on the underside: DC switch labelled ON / OFF, DC connectors labelled PV1+, PV1-, PV2+, PV2-, a label plate marked WIFI/GPRS, two round communication glands, an AC connector labelled AC, and cooling fins below. Two numbered red circles: 2 points with a line to the WIFI/GPRS plate; 1 points with a bracket to the two round glands. Legend under the drawing: 1. RS485 interface 2. WiFi/GPRS.
3.2 Connect the RS485 cable
The picture shows how the physical connection is established. Reduxi takes the role of the terminal. Instead of the USB/485 interface, use the Port 1 or Port 2 interface on the Reduxi Controller.

| Data bits | 8 |
| Stop bits | 1 |
| Parity | None |
| Modbus unit ID |
1 (required) |
| Rated power of inverter [kW] |
10 in the screenshot (required): enter the rated power of your inverter |

→ Common issues
| Issue | Solution |
|---|---|
| Test communication fails | Check that the Port setting matches the Reduxi port the RS485 cable is connected to (Port 1 or Port 2). Check the Modbus unit ID. |
| Device cannot be completed | The fields Modbus unit ID and Rated power must be set. |
| Open configurator does not open or stays empty | The tunnel is not active yet. Wait about 30 seconds and check that the controller is online. |
