3 Set up the Voltie charger
3.1 Voltie app and Wi‑Fi connection
Register the charger in the Voltie app and connect it to your Wi‑Fi network. The Voltie platform (the app) is used for the setup. The steps are shown in the Voltie videos on the Quick start page.
3.2 Installation
Install the charger as described on the Voltie Quick start page. Voltie lists the OCPP protocol as one of the integration options of the charger.
4 Log in to the Reduxi web interface
You can open the Reduxi web interface in two ways:

5 Add the Voltie charger to Reduxi
Use these steps to add a new Voltie charger or to edit an existing one.
5.1 Basic settings
Log in locally to the Reduxi Configurator (see Point 4) and add a new device by clicking the Add device button.

Screenshot of the top of the Reduxi Configurator left menu. Logo: reduxi Configurator. Devices (expanded, minus sign) contains only the button + Add device (framed). Below: Strategies (+), Utility Rate Plan, Settings (+).
In the first step, define the basic settings:
- Device type:
EV charger - Type:
Voltie - Name: a name of your choice

Screenshot of the Reduxi Configurator device wizard, step 1 Basic settings. Step indicator: 1 Basic settings (active), 2 Communication channel (greyed). Heading: Basic settings. Fields: Device type *: EV charger; Type *: OCPP 1.6 - JSON; Name *: Voltie EV Charger. Buttons: Back, Next.
Press Next.
5.2 Communication settings
The second step sets the communication channel for OCPP. Define the Device identifier first. You can choose it freely.
For the OCPP JSON 1.6 protocol, a URL is needed. The Reduxi Controller generates it automatically. Add /Device ID at the end of this URL.
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Device identifier | A name of your choice, for example my_station_ID1
|
| URL | The URL generated by the Reduxi Controller + /Device ID
|
| Example | ws://192.168.1.200/ocpp/1.6/json/my_station_ID1 |

Section title: Communication channel and device configuration. Fields: Device identifier *: my_station_ID1 (blue highlight box); Connector *: 1; Charger type *: AC; Energy counter: Default; Allocate power to EVSE when EV is not connected to EVSE: Default; Per phase max. current *: Manual override; Per phase max. current manual override: 32 (hint: In effect when manual override is selected); Forward communication to backend OCPP server: empty; Allow new charging session: Always; Controller OCPP JSON 1.6 URL: ws://192.168.1.200/ocpp/1.6/json (read-only, blue highlight box, copy icon at the right). Buttons: Back (left), Test communication (outlined) and Next (dark) on the right.
5.3 Enter the URL on the charger
Enter the complete URL, including the Device ID, as the OCPP server address of the Voltie charger. The Device ID must be identical to the Device identifier in Reduxi.
5.4 Test communication
Click Test communication at the bottom of the wizard. It reads the Voltie charger once and saves nothing. If the test succeeds, click Done: only Done creates the device.

Port *: 502, with button 'Test port'. Modbus unit ID *: 1. Buttons at the bottom: Back (left), Test communication and Done (right). The Done button is marked with a cyan box.
6 Check the readings
6.1 Last measurements
After communication is established, check the values under Devices in the Reduxi Configurator.
6.2 Enable control by Reduxi
For control by Reduxi, set the control type of the device to AUTO under Devices in the Reduxi Configurator. Only then do strategy commands affect the charger.
To reduce energy costs with dynamic prices and dynamic tariffs, define a strategy as described in Strategies for Reduxi controller.
✓ Summary
Preparation (Points 1–2): Read the Voltie documents and prepare the equipment, including a static IP address for the Controller.
Voltie charger (Point 3): Register the charger in the Voltie app and connect it to Wi‑Fi.
Add to Reduxi (Points 4–5): Log in to the Reduxi Configurator, add the charger with OCPP JSON 1.6, enter the URL on the charger and test the communication.
Go live (Point 6): Check the readings and set the control type to AUTO.
→ Common issues
| Issue | Solution |
|---|---|
| The charger does not connect to the Controller | Check that the URL on the charger ends with the Device ID and that the Device ID equals the Device identifier in Reduxi. Check that the Controller has a static IP address. |
| The charger lost its Wi‑Fi connection after a router replacement | Repeat the Wi‑Fi setup in the Voltie app. |
| Open configurator does not open or stays empty | The tunnel is not active yet. Wait about 30 seconds and check that the controller is online. |
Login with admin is rejected |
The password was changed during installation. Ask the installer. The Reduxi account password does not work here. |
reduxi.local does not load |
Your device is not in the same network as the controller. Use the IP address or the tunnel connection. |
| Communication test fails, device shows offline | Check reachability, IP address / port / unit ID, and that the protocol is enabled on the device. |
