1. System Requirements
- Pylontech Force H3X Hybrid inverter
- Local Ethernet network (LAN)
- Third‑party controller with Modbus TCP support
- Pylontech mobile application (Installer)
Important:
- The configuration of communication and system parameters shall be carried out exclusively by an authorized installer.
2. Physical Ethernet Connection
Objective:
Establish a wired LAN connection for Modbus TCP communication.
Procedure:
- Locate the LAN (RJ45) port on the Force H3X Power Control Module.
- Connect an Ethernet cable (CAT5e or CAT6) from the LAN port to:
- a network switch, or
- a router, or
- an industrial control network.
Notes:
- Wireless connections are not supported.
- Maximum recommended cable length: 100 m.
- Ensure network equipment is powered and operational.
3. IP Address Configuration via Pylontech App
Objective:
Assign a network IP address to the inverter.
Important:
The IP address cannot be configured from the inverter display. Configuration is only possible via the Pylontech App. Download app from the app store on your mobile phone (Apple store ot Google store).
Procedure:
- Install/Login and open the Pylontech App.
- Select the corresponding Plant and Device.
Navigate to:
Settings → Communication → LAN
3.1 Recommended Setting – Static IP Address
Configure the following parameters according to the local network:
Example:
IP Address: 192.168.1.50 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 Gateway: 192.168.1.1 DNS Server: 8.8.8.8
- Save the configuration.
- Restart the inverter to apply changes.
Note: The IP address, subnet mask, gateway, and DNS server may vary depending on the network the device is connected to.
4. Modbus TCP Activation Status
Objective:
Confirm Modbus TCP availability.
Status:
- Modbus TCP is enabled by default on the Force H3X.
- No manual activation or parameter change is required.
Default communication parameters:
Protocol: Modbus TCP Port: 502 Transport: Ethernet (LAN)
Once the LAN connection and IP configuration are complete, Modbus TCP communication becomes available automatically.
5. Modbus TCP Communication Parameters (Advanced use)
Objective:
Configure the third‑party controller to communicate with the inverter.
The following parameters shall be configured on the controller side:
IP Address: 192.168.1.50 Port: 502 Protocol: Modbus TCP Unit ID: 1 (or not used) Function: Holding Registers (FC03)
Important Notes:
- Only Holding Registers (Function Code 03) are supported.
- Input Registers (FC04) are not supported.
- All process data is accessed via FC03.
6. Adding new device to Reduxi controller
To add a new device or to edit an existing one, follow the steps below.
6.1 Login/Add a New Device
- Log in to the Reduxi Configurator application and press the “Add device” button.
- Select the device you want to add under Basic settings.
6.2 Basic Device Parameters
In the first step, configure the basic parameters of the device:
- Device type: Choose device type
- Type: Choose type
- Name: Enter the desired device name
6.3 Communication Settings
Fill in the communication parameters for the new device that you are adding to Reduxi than press Test communication. If you get a response press Save.
