1. Local Access to the sonnenBatterie web interface
Before starting, make sure you have the local IP address of the sonnenBatterie and that your computer is connected to the same local network.
The inverter receives its IP address from:
- the router,
- a network switch,
- or a local DHCP server.
Open a web browser and enter the inverter’s local IP address to access the web interface.
example: http://<IP>
sonnenBatterie Gen. 8 or higher (REST API)
2. Installer Login
After opening the inverter’s IP address in the web browser, a login screen will appear.
- Select Installer as the login type.
- Enter the installer password.
Important:
The installer password is not available to end users.
It is provided only to authorized Sonnen installers or Sonnen support.
If access is required:
- Contact the installer who commissioned the system, or
- Contact Sonnen support, who can:
- verify the request,
- unlock access,
- or perform the required changes on your behalf.
2.1 Dashboard Access
After a successful login, the Menu / Dashboard will be displayed.
2.2 Enabling the sonnenBatterie REST API
From the Dashboard, perform the following steps:
- Navigate to Software Integration.
- Enable Read API.
- Enable Write API.
- At the bottom of the page:
- copy the existing API token, or
- click Create new if no token is available.
Note:
This API token is required to add the Sonnen system to Reduxi.
2.3 Setting operating mode
Press settings menu on the left side and choose operating mode Manual.
3. Adding new device to Reduxi controller
To add a new device to Reduxi, follow the steps below.
3.1 Login/Add a New Device

Log in to the Reduxi Configurator web interface and press the “Add device” button.
3.2 Basic Device Parameters
In the first step, configure the basic parameters of the device:
- Device type: Hybrid Inverter
- Type: Sonnen
- Name: Enter the desired device name
- Press Next
3.3 Communication channel and device configuration
- Connection: TCP/IP
- IP: Devices IP address
- API token: Enter API token from section (2.2 Enabling the sonnenBatterie REST API)
- PV
- Choose your inverter type:
AC‑coupled: battery and inverter are separate
Hybrid: battery and inverter are integrated into one system
3.4 Test communication
Press "Test communication". If the device returns a successful readout, the connection is working correctly.

7. Check list
To ensure proper setup and reliable operation, please review the following checklist:
On the Reduxi Controller:

IP Address Configuration
Verify that the correct IP address has been entered for the connected device. -
API Token
Ensure that a valid API token is correctly entered. -
System Type Selection
Confirm that the appropriate system type is selected: AC‑coupled or Hybrid, depending on your setup. -
Communication Test
Check that the communication test has been successfully completed. -
Device Reachability
Make sure that the device IP address is reachable from the Reduxi controller.
On the sonnenBatterie Web Interface:

API Permissions
Confirm that both Read API and Write API access are enabled. -
Operating Mode
Ensure the operating mode is set to Manual.
Strategy Setup:

Active Strategy
Verify that the selected strategy is set to Active. -
AI Energy Optimization
Ensure that AI Energy Manager optimization is enabled within the strategy. -
Single Active Strategy
Confirm that only one strategy is active at a time. -
Import/Export Limits
Check that the import and export limits are properly defined and configured.
