2. Connect Pixxi Powershaper/Home to local network
For effective communication, it is essential to establish a connection to the local network. Within this network, the Reduxi controler must also be connected.
The image below shows the back panel of the Pixii BESS system, featuring two ETH ports available for LAN connection.
2. Enable Modbus TCP/IP connection to Pixii battery
Follow steps displayed in image below:
3. Connect Reduxi contoller to Pixii battery.
Once the internet connection between the battery and the Reduxi controller is established, and Modbus TCP/IP communication is enabled on the battery side, user can begin adding the device to the Reduxi controller.
3.1 Adding a device
Log in locally to the Reduxi configurator application on the controller and press the Add device button.
3.2 Select the device you would like to add
In the first step (basic settings), select the basic parameters of the device you want to add:
- Device type: Battery,
- Type: PIXII PowerSharper or PIXII Home
- Name: Specify the name of the device.
3.3 Communication channel
The communication channel setup is designed to define the connection between the Reduxi Controller and the Pixii battery.
Note: Default Modbus unit ID=2
3.4 Communication test
The communication test is carried out with the help of the "Test communication" button, located on the lower right side after all the parameters fields of the communication channel.
The communication test can return two answers:
1. Communication is working properly, picture below:
2. Communication is not working properly, the picture below:
5.6 Advanced Settings
The advanced setting is arbitrary and depends on the specific needs of the location where the Reduxi controller is installed. After finishing all the advanced settings, press the "Done" button on the lower right side.
5.7 Last measurements
After successfully establishing communication with the newly added device, its values can be checked under Devices/PIXII PowerSharper in the Reduxi configurator as an additional test.
For advanced battery control, integrate the device into the strategy of the Reduxi system. Under Devices/PIXII PowerSharper or Home in the Reduxi configurator, the control type must be set to AUTO so commands for strategy will affect the battery.
To achieve maximal flexibility and energy cost reduction with respect to dynamic price and dynamic tariffs please follow the instructions on how to define strategy at this link: Strategies for Reduxi controller.
After successfully adding the device, it can be monitored and controlled also via the Reduxi application.
