How to connect SolarEdge inverter (with display) with Reduxi controller
Configure the SolarEdge inverter with display for Modbus TCP and add it to the Reduxi Controller.
1 Prepare the inverter
1.1 Required equipment
- Reduxi Controller
- SolarEdge inverter with display (Solar Power Plant inverter)
- SolarEdge documentation (the default password is listed there)
- Laptop or tablet with internet access to configure the device in Reduxi
2 Enable Modbus TCP on the inverter
2.1 Turn off the inverter
Turn off the inverter with the switch at the bottom of the front panel. Move the switch from 1 to 0.

In the centre is the black rotary main switch with the printed label "ON" above it and "OFF" to its left. A red number "2." is written on the housing at the upper right. In the recess above the switch cover, a small white switch with a red mark and the digit 0 is visible, and a teal arrow points to it from the lower right. Cables enter the housing next to it.
Wait until the energy production of the inverter goes to 0 W. Then turn the main switch from ON to OFF.

4 Add the inverter to Reduxi
Use these steps to add a new inverter or to edit an existing one.
4.1 Basic settings
Log in locally to the Reduxi Configurator via the browser (see Point 3) and click + Add device.
In the first step (basic settings), select the device type and the type of the SolarEdge inverter and enter a name of your choice. Press Next.
4.2 Communication settings
Select the communication channel and enter the settings you configured on the inverter in Point 2:
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| IP | The static IP address you set on the inverter |
| Port | The Modbus TCP port you set on the inverter (default 502) |
| Modbus unit ID | The unit ID you set under Set Server Addr |
4.3 Device configuration and advanced settings
Enter the device configuration. Normally the Modbus unit ID 1 is used. Then enter and choose the advanced settings.
4.4 Test communication
Click Test communication at the bottom of the wizard. It reads the SolarEdge inverter once and saves nothing. If the test succeeds, click Done: only Done creates the device.

Port *: 502, with button 'Test port'. Modbus unit ID *: 1. Buttons at the bottom: Back (left), Test communication and Done (right). The Done button is marked with a cyan box.
5 Check the readings
5.1 Last measurements
After communication is established, check the values of the inverter in the Reduxi Configurator as an additional test.
5.2 Enable control by Reduxi
To integrate the inverter into the Reduxi strategy, define a strategy as described in Strategies for Reduxi controller.
✓ Summary
Preparation (Points 1–2): Collect the equipment. Turn off the inverter, open the cover, enter the password and set LAN, static IP, Modbus unit ID and Modbus TCP port on the display.
Log in (Point 3): Log in to the Reduxi Configurator.
Add to Reduxi (Point 4): Add the inverter with the IP address, port and Modbus unit ID. Run the communication test and press Done.
Go live (Point 5): Check the readings and define a strategy.
→ Common issues
| Issue | Solution |
|---|---|
| Test communication fails | Check the IP address, port and Modbus unit ID against the values on the inverter display (see Point 2). |
| Display locked before you finish | The display locks after 10 to 15 minutes. Enter the password again (see Point 2). |
| Open configurator does not open or stays empty | The tunnel is not active yet. Wait about 30 seconds and check that the controller is online. |
Login with admin is rejected |
The password was changed during installation. Ask the installer. The Reduxi account password does not work here. |
reduxi.local does not load |
Your device is not in the same network as the controller. Use the IP address or the tunnel connection. |
| Communication test fails, device shows offline | Check reachability, IP address / port / unit ID, and that the protocol is enabled on the device. |
