This guide will help you understand how to install the Reduxi Controller through the Reduxi mobile app and guide you through common mistakes and errors that may occur when installing the Reduxi Controller using the Reduxi App.
We strongly recommend first watching the installation video and verifying that you have followed each step exactly as shown.

For a more detailed explanation of the setup process, you can also follow the full step-by-step guide here:
Reduxi Controller Set up with Reduxi App
If the installation steps have been followed correctly but the issue still persists, this guide will help you identify and resolve the most common problems encountered during setup.
In this Guide these Errors will be adressed:
Cannot connect to the Reduxi hotspot by scanning the QR code on the app
Wrong WiFi password when connecting the Reduxi Controller to the customer’s WiFi
Configurations were not saved on the Reduxi Cloud in the final step
1. Not waiting for the Reduxis WiFi Hotspot to appear
After powering on the Reduxi Controller, it may take some time before the Reduxi WiFi hotspot becomes visible. If you start the app setup too early, the hotspot may not appear when the app asks you to connect to it.
When the Reduxi Controller is powered on, it takes a short time to start its internal WiFi hotspot. During this startup period, the hotspot will not yet be visible on your phone.
Before starting the setup process in the Reduxi App, open the WiFi settings on your phone and verify that the Reduxi hotspot appears in the list of available networks. The hotspot will appear with the name “Reduxi XXX”.
Once you can see the Reduxi hotspot in your phone’s WiFi list, return to the Reduxi App and begin the setup process.
2. The Reduxi WiFi Hotspot has disappeared
The Reduxi WiFi hotspot is only active for a limited time. If the hotspot is no longer visible, it can be reactivated by resetting the controller.
The Reduxi WiFi hotspot is active for approximately 10 minutes after the controller is powered on. If you wait too long to start the installation, the hotspot may disappear from the list of available WiFi networks.
If the Reduxi hotspot is no longer visible, you can reactivate it by resetting the controller.
To reset the hotspot, insert a pin or needle into the small reset hole located on the backside of the Reduxi Controller. Press the button inside the hole briefly (15 seconds approximately).
After you press the reset button, please wait until the second LED starts blinking green. This indicates that the Reduxi WiFi hotspot has been activated again and should soon appear in the list of available WiFi networks on your phone.
3. Cannot connect to the Reduxi hotspot by scanning the QR code on the app
In some cases, connecting to the Reduxi hotspot by scanning the QR code may fail, and the app displays the message “Cannot connect to Reduxi XXXX”. The hotspot can then be connected manually through the phone’s WiFi settings.
During the installation through the Reduxi App, you will reach a step where the app asks you to connect to the Reduxi hotspot by scanning the QR code located on the backside of the Reduxi Controller.
In some cases, the QR code connection may fail, and the app will display the message “Cannot connect to Reduxi XXXX”.
If this happens, go back to the previous step in the app. Then open the WiFi settings on your phone and manually connect to the Reduxi WiFi hotspot.
Once your phone is connected to the Reduxi hotspot, return to the Reduxi App. Instead of scanning the QR code again, select the option “Already connected to hotspot”.
You can then continue the setup process from there.
4. Wrong WiFi password when connecting the Reduxi Controller to the customer’s WiFi
This is the most common error when installing Reduxi. If the WiFi password is entered incorrectly during setup, the Reduxi Controller will not be able to connect to the customer’s network, and the installation may fail.
During the setup process, you will be asked to connect the Reduxi Controller to the customer’s WiFi network so that the controller can communicate with the Reduxi Cloud and operate on the local network.
A common mistake in this step is entering the WiFi password incorrectly. If the password is wrong, the controller will attempt to connect to the network but will fail.
When this happens, the Reduxi Controller may deactivate its internal WiFi hotspot while trying to connect to the customer’s network. As a result, the setup process will not complete successfully.
If you suspect that the WiFi password was entered incorrectly, you will need to reactivate the Reduxi Controller’s hotspot by doing a factory reset.
Once the hotspot is active again, you can restart the Reduxi App and begin the setup process, making sure the WiFi password is entered correctly.
5. Configurations were not saved on the Reduxi Cloud in the final step
In some cases, the setup process may fail to save the location configuration on the Reduxi Cloud even though the controller successfully connects to the internet and the cloud.
During the setup process, the Reduxi App saves the controller configuration and links the controller to a specific location on the Reduxi Cloud.
In some cases, this step may fail even though the Reduxi Controller successfully connects to the customer’s WiFi network and to the Reduxi Cloud.
You can verify this by checking the LED indicators on the Reduxi Controller. If all three LEDs are solid green, it means that the controller is powered on, connected to the internet, and connected to the Reduxi Cloud.
If this happens, the controller simply needs to be manually linked to a location.
You can do this either through the Reduxi App or through the Reduxi Web App by selecting the controller and assigning it to the correct location. See the video above for a demonstration of how to complete this step.
