How to connect KEBA KeContact P30 EV charger (Modbus TCP/IP, LAN) with Reduxi controller
Connect your KEBA KeContact P30 EV charger to the Reduxi Controller via Modbus TCP/IP over LAN.
Text description of this image
Tall photo of a white wall-mounted EV charger on a concrete wall with visible formwork board marks. The charger has the green 'KEBA' logo at the top, a dark grey front panel with an RFID symbol and a red dot-matrix display text (reads 'bitte'), a charging socket with a black-and-green plug inserted, and the text 'GREEN EDITION' below it. A green cable leads from the plug downwards; a black cable enters the top of the charger from a white cable duct on the left. In the lower part of the photo the green charging cable hangs in loops from a black holder mounted on the concrete wall above a grey horizontal strip.

4 Configure the charger
4.1 Access the web interface
The KEBA P30 has no display. You configure it in the integrated web interface (Web UI). You need the IP address of the charger.
Find the IP address (DHCP):
- Set the DIP switch for DHCP to ON (factory default).
- Power on the charger.
- The charger requests an IP address from the DHCP server of the network.
- Find the assigned IP address with one of these methods: router DHCP lease list, network scan tool, KEBA service tool (if available).
Log in to the Web UI:
- Open a web browser.
- Enter the IP address of the charger:
http://<charger-ip-address> - Log in with the administrator credentials.

In the first step (basic settings), select the basic parameters of the device:
- Device type: choose the device type
- Type: choose the type
- Name: a name of your choice

Screenshot of the Reduxi Configurator wizard step 1 'Basic settings' (step 2 'Communication channel' greyed). Form with all fields empty: Device type *: empty drop-down; Type *: empty drop-down (greyed); Name *: empty. Buttons: Back, Next.
Click Next.
6.2 Communication settings
Fill in the communication parameters of the charger:
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Connection | TCP/IP |
| IP | The IP address of the charger (see Point 4) |
| Port |
502 (Modbus TCP default of the KEBA KeContact P30) |
| Modbus address | The Modbus address (unit ID) set on the charger. See the KEBA documentation in Point 1. |
6.3 Test communication
Click Test communication at the bottom of the wizard. It reads the KEBA KeContact P30 once and saves nothing. If the test succeeds, click Done: only Done creates the device.

7 Check the readings
7.1 Last measurements
After communication is established, open the charger under Devices in the Reduxi Configurator and check the values as an additional test.
7.2 Enable control by Reduxi
To control the charger with Reduxi strategies, set the control type of the device to AUTO. Only then do strategy commands affect the charger.
To define a strategy, follow Strategies for Reduxi controller.
✓ Summary
Preparation (Points 1–2): Get the KEBA documents. Install and power the charger. Prepare the Ethernet cable, the Reduxi Controller and a laptop or tablet.
KEBA charger (Points 3–4): Connect the charger to the network. Find its IP address, set a static IP if needed and enable Modbus TCP in the Web UI. Restart the charger.
Add to Reduxi (Points 5–6): Log in to the Reduxi web interface. Add the device and set the communication parameters. Run Test communication, then click Done.
Go live (Point 7): Check the last measurements. Set the control type to AUTO.
→ Common issues
| Issue | Solution |
|---|---|
| Web UI is not reachable | Check that the DIP switch for DHCP is ON and the Ethernet cable is connected. Check that the link LEDs are active. Find the IP address in the router DHCP lease list (see Point 4). |
| Cannot log in to the Web UI | Use the administrator password from the label inside the charger, the commissioning sheet or the KEBA delivery documentation. |
| Test communication fails | Check that Modbus TCP is enabled under Communication settings in the Web UI and that the charger was restarted after saving. Check the IP address and port in Point 6. |
| Open configurator does not open or stays empty | The tunnel is not active yet. Wait about 30 seconds and check that the controller is online. |
Login with admin is rejected |
The password was changed during installation. Ask the installer. The Reduxi account password does not work here. |
reduxi.local does not load |
Your device is not in the same network as the controller. Use the IP address or the tunnel connection. |
| Communication test fails, device shows offline | Check reachability, IP address / port / unit ID, and that the protocol is enabled on the device. |
