How to connect Landis+Gyr E350 energy meter with Reduxi controller
Connect the Landis+Gyr E350 energy meter to the Reduxi Controller via M-Bus and the Reduxi Landis Converter.
1 Technical documentation
Documents for this installation:
- How to configure Landis+Gyr E350 or E450 in the MAP120 tool – Reduxi guide for the M-Bus settings on the meter
- Reduxi Converter for Landis+Gyr E350, 450 meter – Connection and technical data of the Reduxi converter
- Landis+Gyr E350 brochure (ZCF/ZMF/ZFF100 series 2) – Manufacturer data on the meter and its M-Bus interface
2 Required equipment
You need the following components:
- Reduxi Controller or Reduxi Gateway
- Landis+Gyr E350 energy meter
- Reduxi Landis Converter RS485-M-BUS
- Cable between the converter and the controller (A, B and GND)
- Laptop or tablet with internet access to configure the device in Reduxi
3 Set up the M-Bus interface on the meter
To configure the energy meter, follow the article How to configure Landis+Gyr E350 or E450 in the MAP120 tool.
4 Connect the meter to the Reduxi Controller
4.1 Connect M-Bus on the meter
Connect M-Bus on the energy meter directly to the Reduxi Landis Converter RS485-M-BUS. The first four pins on the energy meter are available for M-Bus. You can use the first two pins from the left or the 3rd and 4th pins from the left.
Text description of this image
Photo of the lower part of a Landis+Gyr E35C meter with a PLC module, a semi-transparent hand or reflection is visible over the upper half. Printed on the front: 'Landis+Gyr E35C', 'CE', 'PLC Module', 'AD-FP91D140', a 'dlms' logo, LED labels at the top right (SYN, New, Tx, Rx, Error, Output active), and labels 'Disconnector closed' and 'Disconnector open'. A small wiring symbol with two boxes 'M-Bus' and 'S0' above a five-pin terminal drawing sits in the centre. Below it, a green five-pole plug-in terminal block on the module has a red wire and a black wire inserted into its left pins. Next to it are a small circuit board part and an RJ45-style socket at the right. At the bottom of the photo is the row of large screw terminals of the meter (two rows of round screw heads); a grey cable with a shield runs at the lower left.
4.2 Connect the converter to the controller
Connect the RS485 side of the Reduxi Landis Converter to the Reduxi Controller or Reduxi Gateway. Choose port one or port two:
- A → A
- B → B
- GND → GND
Text description of this image
Diagram of the connection between a meter, the Reduxi Landis converter and a Reduxi controller, drawn with black outlines, blue labels and red wires. Top: a blue-framed block (meter) with numbered terminals 1 to 12 at the top edge (terminals 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 9, 10 and 12 have red lines going up; the others are open), a 'Reset' contact at the right edge, and a box labelled 'M-bus' with a connector at its bottom. Two red wires run from this M-bus connector down to the 'M-bus' terminal (two pins) at the top of the converter. Middle: converter box labelled 'Landis/M-bus' with two mounting holes. Its lower terminal block has three pins labelled GND, A, B. Three red wires run down from GND, A and B to the controller. Bottom: controller (inside a dashed frame) with a DC power jack labelled 'PWR', a 'RESET' hole, an Ethernet port labelled 'ETH', four small status symbols, and a 6-pin terminal block labelled GND, A, B (Port 1), A, B (Port 2) and +5V. The three red wires from the converter connect to GND, A and B of Port 1. A power cable plug (striped cone shape) is drawn under the PWR jack, and below the controller a small two-pin connector labelled RD and CR (with + and - marks) has two red wires; one runs down and then to the right, to the edge of the picture.
4.3 Check the converter LEDs
A green light and a blinking yellow light appear on the converter. If the yellow light is not blinking, the energy meter is not set from the electro-distribution and does not send data.
5 Get the serial number and the HDLC address
5.1 Get the serial number of the energy meter
Read the serial number from the energy meter. The red square in the picture shows the last four digits of the serial number. The other part of the serial number is hidden for security reasons. In your case, read the whole serial number from the energy meter.

Legend of display codes (1.8.T Delovna energija A+, 2.8.T Delovna energija A-, 3.8.T Jalova energija R+, 4.8.T Jalova energija R-, T = tarifa, 0.9.1 Cas, 0.9.2 Datum), tariff markers T1 to T6, 'CE', 'M21 1259', '1000 imp/kWh'. A barcode with the number 3107 below it is marked with a red rounded frame. Lower part: module 'Landis+Gyr E35C', '2G/3G-Module AD-FU11G150', 'Nr.', 'I.D. 3', 'I.D. 4', 'dlms' and 'IDIS 2DLM' logos, 'Reg No: 0026', LED labels Error, RSSI, GSM, UMTS, CONN, Rx/Tx, labels MBus, wMBus, S0-IN, CI, CO-1, CO-2, 20/30, MBus, a terminal block at the bottom, and a yellow label at the lower left.
5.2 Get the physical device address (HDLC address)
The address is the last four numbers of the serial number of the energy meter.
For example, the serial number above is 3107+1000=4107.
6 Log in to the Reduxi web interface
You can open the Reduxi web interface in two ways:

→ Common issues
| Issue | Solution |
|---|---|
| Yellow LED on the converter is not blinking | The meter is not set from the electro-distribution and sends no data. |
| Test communication fails | Check the serial number and the physical device address (HDLC address) against the meter. |
| Open configurator does not open or stays empty | The tunnel is not active yet. Wait about 30 seconds and check that the controller is online. |
Login with admin is rejected |
The password was changed during installation. Ask the installer. The Reduxi account password does not work here. |
reduxi.local does not load |
Your device is not in the same network as the controller. Use the IP address or the tunnel connection. |
| Communication test fails, device shows offline | Check reachability, IP address / port / unit ID, and that the protocol is enabled on the device. |
