Strategy measurements, charts and archive
See what the strategy measures and decides right now, follow it over time in charts, and export its history.
→ Overview
Three tabs show what a strategy does:
- Last measurements — live values: the grid point, the setpoints sent to the devices, the mode and limits in effect, and the state of AI, External EMS and flexibility.
- Analyze — the same values as charts over a period you choose.
- Archive — the stored values as a table, which you can export as a CSV file.
Use them to check a new installation and to find out why the site behaves the way it does. This chapter describes the Energy manager. An ON/OFF strategy shows fewer values, mainly its state (ON or OFF), the measured power or currents and its thresholds.
Grid Active power is positive while the site imports from the grid and negative while it exports. Import active power and Export active power are shown as positive numbers.
1 Check the strategy at a glance
2 Last measurements
Every value shows the date and time it was last updated. The page refreshes by itself.
| Element | What it does |
|---|---|
| Active (toggle at the top) | Switches the strategy on or off. The change is saved immediately, without a confirmation, and the strategy restarts. |
Switching Active off on this tab stops the strategy immediately. An Energy manager then no longer limits grid import or export and no longer controls the batteries, PV, EV chargers and heat pumps. There is no confirmation dialog. Switch it back on to resume regulation.
Grid
The combined grid point of the strategy: the sum of all its measurement devices (see Included items).
| Value | Meaning | Unit |
|---|---|---|
| Active power | Power at the grid point. Positive = import, negative = export. | kW |
| Import active power | Power drawn from the grid; 0 while exporting. | kW |
| Export active power | Power fed into the grid; 0 while importing. | kW |
| Current L1, Current L2, Current L3 | Current per phase at the grid point. | A |
| Voltage L1, Voltage L2, Voltage L3 | Voltage per phase at the grid point. | V |
Exernal EMS
Values reported by batteries and hybrid inverters that the Energy manager drives through their own EMS modes (see Preferred control mode in Strategy details: grid, EVSE, PV and HVAC).
| Value | Meaning | Unit |
|---|---|---|
| PV - active power | PV power of these devices. | kW |
| Battery - active power | Battery power of these devices. | kW |
| Battery - SOC | State of charge of their batteries. | % |
| Number of external EMS | How many regulated devices are currently driven through their own EMS mode. 0 = all devices get setpoints from the controller. |
— |
Power and setpoints
The actual power of each device type next to the setpoint the Energy manager sends.
| Value | Meaning | Unit |
|---|---|---|
| PV - active power, PV - active power setpoint | Total power of the regulated PV inverters and the power limit sent to them. | kW |
| EVSE - active power, EVSE - active power setpoint | Total power of the regulated EV chargers and the power allocated to them. | kW |
| Battery - active power, Battery - active power setpoint | Total power of the regulated batteries and the setpoint sent to them. | kW |
| HVAC - state setpoint | State sent to the heat pumps (Off, Eco, On, Boost). | — |
Other
| Value | Meaning | Unit |
|---|---|---|
| Active | ON = the strategy runs. | ON / OFF |
| Battery - SOC | State of charge of the regulated batteries. | % |
| Fallback to safe values | ON = a measurement device does not communicate. Batteries are stopped and PV, EV chargers and heat pumps run on their fallback values from the Details tab. | ON / OFF |
| Regulation interval | Time between two regulation cycles. | s |
| Off-grid | ON = a regulated device reports that the site runs off-grid. PV and EV chargers are limited to their off-grid power, heat pumps get the off-grid setpoint. | ON / OFF |
Main settings
What the Energy manager is doing right now, after it has chosen the mode (see Optimization modes, goals and limits).
| Value | Meaning | Unit |
|---|---|---|
| Optimization | The mode in effect, for example Default optimization mode, a schedule entry, Negative price or Voltage regulation. | — |
| Regulation mode | The goal in effect, for example Self consumption. | — |
| Min. import active power, Max. import active power | The import range the controller holds now. Max. import active power can be lower than the mode's import limit while the controller compensates an overshoot within the time window, or while a grid operator limit applies. | kW |
| Min. export active power, Max. export active power | The export range the controller holds now, with the same remarks. | kW |
If the site does not behave as expected, check Optimization and Regulation mode first. They often show that a schedule entry, the negative-price mode or voltage regulation is in effect instead of the default mode.
PV, EVSE and Battery settings
The advanced settings of the mode in effect (see Optimization modes, goals and limits).
| Card → value | Meaning |
|---|---|
| PV settings → Enable | ON = PV may produce. |
| EVSE settings → Enable | ON = EV chargers may charge. |
| EVSE settings → Allocate power only from PV | Not filled in by the current software; see Limit charging to PV instead. |
| EVSE settings → Limit charging to PV | The Charging from PV limit in effect: NONE = Charge from PV and Grid, CHARGE_ONLY_FROM_PV = Charge only from full PV production, CHARGE_ONLY_FROM_PV_EXCESS = Charge only from PV surplus. |
| Battery settings → Enable charging, Enable discharging | ON = the batteries may charge / discharge. |
| Battery settings → Min. SOC, Max. SOC | The SOC range in effect, in %. |
| Battery settings → Allocate power only from PV | ON = the batteries may not charge from the grid now. |
| Battery settings → Allow charging from grid | ON = the batteries may charge from the grid now. Depends on the mode, the AI battery optimization and flexibility activations. |
| Battery settings → Allow discharging to grid | ON = the batteries may discharge into the grid now. |
AI agent, External EMS and Flexibility
| Card → value | Meaning |
|---|---|
| AI agent → Enable | ON = the AI energy manager is enabled. |
| AI agent → Battery active power setpoint, EVSE active power setpoint, HVAC state setpoint | The setpoints of the AI plan for the current time slot. |
| AI agent → Apply strategy settings | Shows whether the AI plan currently applies its own goal and limits instead of the selected mode. |
| External EMS → Enable | ON = an External EMS mode is configured and active. |
| External EMS → Battery, EVSE, PV active power setpoint, HVAC state setpoint | The setpoints received from the external EMS. |
| Flexibility → Enable | ON = a Flexibility mode is active. |
| Flexibility → Activation, Activation type | The current activation from the flexibility provider and its type. |
| Flexibility → Requested active power, Realized active power | The power the provider asked for and the power the site delivered. |
| Flexibility → Active power positive potential, Active power negative potential | How much the site could increase or decrease its power now. |
| Flexibility → Grid import / export active power limit, Absolute activation upper / lower limit | The limits used for flexibility. |
See AI energy manager and Flexibility and External EMS for these features.
3 Analyze
The Analyze tab shows the strategy values as charts, grouped like the cards: Grid, Power and setpoints, External EMS, PV, EVSE, Battery, Other, AI agent, External EMS and Flexibility.
| Element | What it does |
|---|---|
| Date range | The period shown, from date and time to date and time. Click it to choose another period. Opens on the current day, 00:00 to 23:59. |
| Charts | One chart per value group. The Import power active and Export power active charts also draw the Max. and Min. limits in effect, so you can see whether the limits were held. Each device-type chart shows the power next to its setpoint. Status charts (Enable, Active, Fallback to safe values) show Active / Inactive over time. |
| Legend | Names the lines of a chart. |
In Power and setpoints, the power line of a device type should follow its setpoint line with a short delay. A device that stays far away from its setpoint may be in Manual control, limited by its own settings, or not following commands. Check the device page and the Health check.
4 Archive
The Archive tab shows the stored values of the strategy as a table.
| Element | What it does | Values |
|---|---|---|
| Date range | The period of the table. Opens on the current day. | date and time |
| Aggregation | Combines the stored values into intervals. Without aggregation shows each stored value. | Without aggregation, 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 1 hour, 24 hours |
| Select data types | The values to include. Shows how many are selected, for example "63 options selected". | multi-select |
| CSV | Downloads the selected values of the period as a CSV file. | — |
| Time, Name, Value | Table columns: when the value was stored, which value, and the value with its unit. Click a column header to sort. | — |
| Rows per page | Number of rows per page. | 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, All |
| page … of …, Prev, Next | Moves through the pages of the table. | — |
How often a strategy stores its values is set by its data saving interval (every minute for the
Energy manager). Status values such as Regulation mode are stored as text (for example
SELF_CONSUMPTION) and on/off values as true / false.
5 Checklist
- Active is ON and Fallback to safe values is OFF.
- The Grid card shows the same power as the grid meter, with import positive and export negative.
- Optimization and Regulation mode show the mode and goal you expect for the current time.
- The setpoints in Power and setpoints are followed by the devices.
- In Analyze, import and export stay within the Max. limit lines.
