Time and time zone
Set the time zone and time server of the controller, or set its clock by hand when no time server is reachable.

→ Overview
The controller needs the correct time. Schedules, price periods, the auto update window, stored measurements and two-factor login codes all depend on it. Normally the controller sets its clock from a time server (NTP) over the internet; you only choose the time zone.
The Time page has two cards, each with its own Save button:
- the upper Time settings card sets the Timezone and the NTP time server,
- the lower Time settings card sets the date and time by hand (Local time).
1 Set the time zone
1
Open the page
In the left menu, click Settings, then System, then Time.
2
Choose the time zone
Click Timezone and start typing the city, for example
Ljubljana, then pick Europe/Ljubljana from the list.3
Check the time server
Leave NTP at
pool.ntp.org unless the site uses its own time server.4
Save
Click Save in the same card.
| Field | What it does | Unit / default |
|---|---|---|
| Timezone | Time zone of the site, from the list of the operating system (for example Europe/Ljubljana). Type to search; click × to clear the field. A value that is not in the list is ignored and the old time zone is kept. |
UTC until set |
| NTP | Address of the time server the controller synchronises its clock with. Use the address of the site's own time server if the controller has no internet access. Empty = no time server; the clock then runs on its own. | pool.ntp.org |
| Save (upper card) | Saves the time zone and the time server and restarts the time service. The change is recorded in the Audit log. The controller does not reboot. | — |
2 Set the clock by hand
Use this only when the controller cannot reach any time server, for example on a site without internet access.
1
Pick the time
Click Local time in the lower card and pick the date and time. The field shows the controller's time at the moment you opened the page.
2
Save
Click Save below the lower card. The controller clock is set at once.
| Field | What it does | Unit / format |
|---|---|---|
| Local time | Date and time of the controller. The value does not tick; reload the page to see the current time. | MM/DD/YYYY HH:mm:ss (DD. MM. YYYY in Slovenian) |
| Save (lower card) | Sets the controller clock to Local time. The change is recorded in the Audit log. | — |
The time server wins
As soon as a time server is reachable, it corrects a clock that was set by hand.
A wrong clock has side effects
- Two-factor login codes are rejected when the clock is off by more than a few seconds.
- Measurements are stored with the wrong time stamp, and price periods and schedules apply at the wrong time.
- Daily (24 h) values in Analyze and Archive are grouped by UTC days, not local days.
3 Checklist
- Timezone matches the site.
- NTP points to a time server the controller can reach.
- Local time matches the real time when you reload the page.
